Comforter advisor

Warm and cozy in winter, pleasantly light in summer: The right comforter should absorb moisture and be breathable. These are high standards that natural fibers like organic cotton, organic virgin wool, and camel hair meet well. Your personal warmth needs, room temperature, and the season—with our comforter guide, choosing your new cozy comforter is a breeze.

Which size of comforter is the right one?

The size of the comforter depends, on the one hand, on the size of your mattress and, on the other hand, on your height. The taller the person or the larger the mattress, the larger the comforter should be. The standard size is 135 x 200 cm. For people taller than 180 cm, we recommend a comforter length of 220 cm. Rule of thumb: Your comforter should be at least 20 cm longer than you are tall. The “feel-good” size of 155 x 220 cm is becoming increasingly popular. If you like to snuggle up, this size is often a good choice.

Which comforter for which season?
Summer comforters

Summer comforters are characterized by both less filling and cooling materials such as wild silk, linen, or nettle. Our lightweight comforters are suitable for the warmer months, heated bedrooms, and people who don’t need much warmth.

Winter comforters

Winter blankets are designed for the cold season and for people who need extra warmth. Natural materials such as organic virgin wool, down, or camel hair provide warmth without causing overheating. In our Duo blankets, this effect is enhanced by the air pocket that forms in the middle between the two layers, which are firmly bonded together.

All-season comforters

All-season comforters are particularly well-suited for the transitional seasons, bedrooms with minimal temperature fluctuations, and people who need more warmth. All-season comforters consisting of two separate layers are especially versatile. These layers vary in thickness and can be used separately or together.

To wash or not to wash comforters?

Blankets filled with fine animal hair generally do not need to be washed; airing them out regularly is often sufficient. It’s also fine to air them out outdoors when the air is humid, as the fibers will straighten out again after drying. Cotton blankets are washable, but they shouldn’t be spun or shaken vigorously. Ideally, spread the blanket out on a clothes rack to dry.

Comforters for babies and children.

All parents want a comfortable sleeping environment for their child. Whether it’s a newborn or an active toddler—getting enough sleep is key to a relaxed family routine.

A cozy comforter keeps your child snug all night long. However, we recommend using our sleeping bags for the first two years and switching to a comforter only later—by then, your child will be old enough not to pull the comforter over their head without being able to free themselves from under it on their own.
