Thermal curtains.

Leave the cold outside and save energy: The thermal curtains made of organic cotton, made from two layers of fabric, are opaque and increase living comfort thanks to their thermal effect. The reason: The air cushion between the two layers preserves the heat in the room and protects against drafts.

Curtain fabric by the meter.

You can also grab a needle and thread yourself and just order the curtain fabric. When ordering, please round up to full meters and enter the desired number of meters in the "Quantity" order field (eg quantity "1" for 1m). Sold by the meter is delivered unsewn and unhemmed, ie without eyelets, pleated tape or loops. The width of the fabric is noted online directly on the product.
IMPORTANT: yard goods are cut individually according to your specifications and are therefore excluded from exchange. You are welcome to request a fabric sample from our customer service by telephone.

So that it is good - measure curtains correctly.

  1. Floor length height measure

  2. Height dimension, window sill height

  3. Total width = length of the rail or the rod

  4. Pure fabric measure (not gathered)

  5. Decorated fabric measure (gathered, laid in folds)

Curtains: Measure the height correctly

Think in advance how long your curtain should hang - floor-length, surface-mounted or window sill height? In addition, the decision for the suspension should already be made.

  • If you use a curtain rod: The measurement is taken from the upper edge of the curtain rod to your desired height.
  • When using a ceiling rail: Measure directly under the ceiling from the bar to your desired height.
  • If the curtain is not to lie on the floor, subtract about 3 cm from the floor-length measurement.

Measure the correct curtain width

Measure the desired width of your curtains (see illustration). Please note that this is initially the width in the gathered state (= deco dimension). The actual fabric width (= fabric size) must therefore be larger! It is important to note the curtain's gathering ratio.

  • With curtains, the gathering ratio describes the difference between decorative dimensions and fabric dimensions. When shirring with a pleated band, even folds are created automatically at regular intervals.
  • For example, if the curtain has a fold tape with a gathering ratio of 1: 2.5, then calculate your measured width x 2.5 = the fabric width to be ordered.
  • A gathering ratio of 1: 2 is recommended for curtains with eyelets. You calculate: Your measured width x 2 = the width of the fabric to be ordered.

Curtains - Made in Germany.

The curtains are produced in a traditional family business in Upper Franconia - owner-managed in the 5th generation. The company is one of the first in Germany to manufacture GOTS-certified curtains from organic cotton and organic linen. In our own weaving mill, the cotton yarn is woven into fabric, dyed externally and then manufactured in-house.
